Charges have been raised against eight former employees of Southwest Airlines Co.

The former employees have reportedly been charged with wire fraud, having allegedly stolen over USD1m from the airline. The alleged theft was carried out through a scheme that involved used tickets. According to The Associated Press, the employees are accused of issuing already used tickets to customers who paid for them with cash. This means that the traveller had a ticket that should have been void in the airline's systems, a federal grand jury indictment stated.
